And of course I figured out how they did the focus lines in the panel with Kenshin's opponent's eye, and the ones in the background of the panel with his hand (not the ones on the hand itself) only after I'd gotten these ones laid in. You can't tell in the low-res scan here, but after examining the actual book, I see that the person doing the tones laid in a solid screentone first, then did a white beta flash/focus lines/whatchacallit on top of that. Arg. Oh well, at least I've figured out how to do that if I ever want to use it.

And I realized that the mystical 3 shape on the guy's palm was a subtle gradient and not a flat tone only after I'd put it in, and said the hell with it.

ETA: The scan on the left is from a scanlation, while the one I was using as high-resolution reference is the Viz version. And Viz screwed up in the spiky text balloon on the lower left - they left it as the Japanese. XD

Kenshin's undereye line needs to be a little darker, but I like your iteration of the villain's lips much better-- more sensual.
