I've read about that and I have to admit it is about the hottest thing ever. Having coffee served by androgynous crossplaying waiters... I could go for that XD

The specific otaku/anime character angle is new, but there's a fantastic documentary about host clubs staffed by cross-dressing women. It's the same concept as a regular host club (hot guys serve you drinks, chat, make you feel wanted, etc.), but you take out any sort of potentially threatening male sexuality and just have people who look male. I think it sounds fascinating. :-)
