I started poking around a few more Saiyuki-themed fannish domain name possibilities, after someone whose name I am too lazy to look up right now pointed out that 800mice.net was free. (As a reminder, in one episode of an HK dub of Saiyuki Reload Gunlock, Yaone's name was translated literally, as Eight Hundred Mice, and that was (still is? I haven't checked...ah, no, my journal appears to be 'attacked by vervets in teh ngorongoro crater' at the moment) my LJ title for a while.) I popped a couple more into the gkg.net search engine, and ...

I know, my Rules For Domain Names tend to go out the window when it's something cool. :D And no, I still haven't decided - I'm just enjoying the place I'm in right now, where I could go one way or I could go another. :D

But eighthundredmice.net is cooler than 800mice.net, which sounds a bit like a phone number. (fetish phone sex line for cats?)

That's bitchy complainers, thankyouverymuch. And oooh, matensutra! Of course, makaitenjou is also very, very tempting. Hmm, can I change my vote?

oh, hey

Part of the point is to give subdomains to cool people, right? So maybe a domain name that incorporates "ikkou?"

You know, you've got a point there...

Neither folseikkou.net nor artikkou.net are taken.

And it seems that neither is teloikkou.net, which has the advantage of looking vaguely Finnish. XD

I hope to someday get far enough in Death Note to judge for myself whether Mello has a fabulous ass.

800mice.net was my suggestion, though I agree with [livejournal.com profile] marith that it looks better spelled out. But that might be too long for a domain.

On the numerals thing - you might want to go ahead and register both 800mice.net and eighthundredmice.net. Online, you would only have to link to the one you decide looks prettiest, and the People You Shout It To Across The Parking Lot could type it either way and still get to it.

(And it'll keep domain-squatters from grabbing the rejected spelling and filling it with ads when you become an internationally renowned kajillionaire cult-leader overnight.)

I think bunnydoll.org is overall a better domain name because it's easier to remember, can only be written one way and also disgusting and perverted in a way very few people will recognize. That said, [livejournal.com profile] snarp's suggestion up there would probably be a good way to handle the is-it-numerals-or-letters problem with shouting 800mice.net across a parking lot.

Also, I totally read "whiny complainers" as "whiny cocksuckers."
