A-Kon Art Show

If any of you think you want to hang art in the A-Kon Art Show in June, registration is open. Due warning: the site is annoying - you need to register, and then poke around until you can find the form without it logging you out.

You don't have to pay until the end of May or so, but it's a good idea to at least register, if you're going to hang work.


ETA: Speaking of art shows, is anyone going to Otakon who is willing to act as my agent and hang art for me if I get a couple of panels there? This is if they don't allow mail-in artists - ISTR that they didn't last year, but I could remember that wrong. If I have to have an agent attending the con to hang my stuff, I'll send you the money to pay for shipping unsold art back to me, and give you a print beside that. :D Just got a victim volunteer. :D

Oops, sorry, that means panels in the art show of the 4' x 4' pegboard sort you hang art on. :D I'm not going to be attending the show, but I'd like to enter some peices int eh art show, and I think Otakon requires that you either attend the con and hang the artwork yourself, or that you assign someone else to do it - they don't do mail-in art, in other words. :D So I'm looking for someone who's going that I can mail a large package of art to, who will deal with the usual hell that is art show art hanging, will collect it after the shoe, and will mail whatever doesn't sell back to me. :D

Mostly some time before the art show sells out. And they haven't even gotten the registration for it open yet, so I can't say for sure. :/ WOn't be for at least a month or two, I'd think. I'm going to try to remember to keep checking back to see when it opens.

Okay. Much will depend on finances and if I have someone to go with. My tolerance for cons is generally low, but if I've got someone to walk around with, it's much more fun.

My friendslist is large enough that there's people on it who don't know each other attending the same events. I should sponsor a con meetup. XD

I will definitely be going to Otakon, should be pre-registered with a group so will have con badge pretty early, should be there early Friday, am staying all weekend, and in short, no problem. ^_^

Just make sure to have whatever paperwork needs to be filled out explained to me (stuff you've done, stuff I'd need to do), because I guarantee that somebody will fuck something up at some point given size of con, so I'd like to a) not be that person and b) have enough information at my disposal to be able to fix whatever the person who does fuck up turns out to do.

You're welcome. I've been involved with a lot of other aspects of con work, but not art show anything, so this will be A New Experience.

I needed something besides the Bitch, Please icon with my cat, because when I talk about her in other people's LJs, I want to use an icon with her on it, but I'd rather not insult whoever it is I'm talking to. :D
