The only thing I see when I look at that poster is L spending half an hour in the bathroom every morning applying eyeliner and hairspray while Raito makes cutting remarks.
Doesn't it depend on when it is? If it's early on when L was still by himself in that big room monitoring stuff? He sits normally and has normal posture, IIRC. (Mind, it's been months since I've reread, but I remember noting that) The first time we see him with the crazy monkey posture is when he meets people face to face -- I've thought it was part of an act/mask.
I have the vague feeling that the teeny little bit of set that we see behind him is from the industrial-looking area with a bunch of screens that a good portion of the manga is in.
I have no real justification for that feeling, but there ya go.
[nods] Could be! I know the room he's in before that is a giant, almost completely empty room except for his tiny little computer. XD Justification might come with the chip bag -- iirc Raito's chip habits are brought up after L's already made contact with Mr. Yagami et al?
Yeah - and L usually eats sweet stuff, so unless it's some serious product placement, it doesn't seem like him. Raito didn't start snacking until he needed to disguise his actions.
OTOH, I don't read Japanese so I ahve no idea what's in that bag. :D
XD Yeah. The big green letters are just "POTATO CHIPS" in katakana... [peers at the rest] the bag's really wrinkled, but I think it says "consomme", which is Raito's flavour, so it implies it's about that time in the storyline, I think.
I've recently started collecting Death Note, but was dismayed when I found out that they are on volume 90something in Japan. Yay for awesome story! Boo for neverending story! But not the book Neverending Story-- that's pretty cool.
They look like big...strong...hands.... don't they?
Volume 10 or 11, chapter 103, it's not *quite* that bad. :D Not like Naruto or something, which is on chapter 302 and still going strong.
I'm mostly reading DN now to see how the writer is getting erhself out of the holes she's digging herself into - she'd admitted in an interivew that she doesn't plot that far ahead. Hah.
Yah, each of the mangas as published by Viz are a volume. Volume 2 has 9 chapters in it, while volume 1 had 7. You can usually assume 7-10 per volume: the exact number depends where they want to break the story.
i want to give this guy a chance, i really want to enjoy the movie, right? but off the top of my head i can think of about fifteen different cosplayers i've seen who have the l posture down much, much better. and this is a guy that they are paying to do it. :(
Who is that behind that chick, the tall stiff guy? That guy who was Misha's "manager" (forgot his name...) Raito? Is it Raito? Oh my gawd >_< I hope not no red hair.
And *GAH* L!
Good posture? Atleast the director got his hand-holding thing right for the chips... Crappy hair...did the costume designer ever read Death Note?

...OTOH, Obata doesn't actually draw Japanese noses. So I'm not likely to ever get them. :D
(But I'd be a lot happier with L's wig if it didn't, in fact, look like a wig.)
