The bookstore on the campus where I work burned down last night. No merchandise was lost because they were undergoing renovations, and had already moved the stock and the registers to a trailer and were doing business out of there. There's some nifty fire photos at the link - it's to the newspaper report of it.

What I find interesting is that a coworker told me about the fire on the way in from the parking lot this morning, and despite my building not being very far at all from the bookstore, I couldn't smell any smoke. Huh.

Bwuh! Maybe there was a demon who was sealed up by the presence of the PRINTED WORD but when all the books were remvoed he was released! Then John Constantine had to come and try to defeat the demon and lucky it turned out the demon was made of paper! So John lit him on fire but in his death throes he burned down the building?

I'll be that was what happened.

I've had a store burn down two blocks from my house and I slept through the whole thing? XD

yeah, same here - arsonist burned down a nearby church, five alarm, I remember hearing some sirens but otherwise slept through it.

Thanks for the links, telophase. I seem to be too busy to watch any TV or even read the newspaper. BTW what ever happened with the open position (business) at your library? FYI I have a phone interview Tuesday for a position at one of the TAMUs in the southern part of the state (think of a ranch...).

From what I've gathered, they've contacted a couple of people and are interviewing them this week and next - if they don't work out, they'll contact others and interview them, and so on. I think they got a massive amount of applications.
