Now I'm wondering if all of the really sub-standard panels are original, and it's only the copied panels that look good. You don't have to be a great artist to copy well, I can copy well, and so many of the poses he's borrowing are off in some way when compared to the original.

Yeah, because on top of being copyright infringement, stealing from BoTI only makes your art look worse. Much, much, much worse, because BoTI is so freaking beautiful.
