...from Jean Snow. I havne't seen it yet - I'm at the ref desk and so cna't download and watch it until I'm back at my desk, so I don't know if the link works. :)
I would say even further... I might have potentially recognized the *castle* in Howl's Moving Castle, but I recognize NOTHING in this as remotely Earthsea-connected.
oh, except maybe Arren in chains, if that was him.
however, as you say, it will be pretty! bring it on!
It's mostly crowd scenes set to wistful female vocals. There's also a desert reaching the coast, a forest, and a boy being handed a sword. Just before the end, a young girl declares something adamently! I'd really like to know what she's saying.
She's saying "I hate people who don't value their own lives!" :-) And that's Teru, by the way. The cast of characters seems to be Ged, Prince Aren, Tenar and Teru. And the final tagline is that "This summer, dragons and people will become one!" Uh. Okay. But...awesomeness! Can't wait!
I got a bit long winded about the trailer, and posted at my own journal rather than here. Link to my comments (which, I'll warn, are rather negative) here (http://apintrix.livejournal.com/82152.html#cutid1).
Um, maybe it's better I don't reread any of the books before I watch it. I watched the SciFi channel version and despised it; at least with Miyazaki I know ahead of time to expect it to be its own animal and judge it as such. Like... a really sparkly piece of AU fanfiction.

...I get the feeling this movie will be as far removed from the source as Howl's Moving Castle was. XD; But at least it will be pretty!

repost, some words got left out
Re: repost, some words got left out
Still bound to be better, though. I watched about five minutes of the other version and turned it off.
