Well, the doctor thinks it's a fungal infection rather than an allergic reaction, despite the last diagnosis (from a different doctor) and the fact that the previous treatment worked to clear it up. So I've got some antifungal cream that sternly admonishes me DO NOT USE ORALLY* to put on my mouth 3 times a day and have been directed to phone the doctor in a week if it doesn't work. I also have, because I decided it was a good idea, a pack of straws with which to drink in case I decide I'm thirsty shortly after putting the fungicide on.
Maybe I'll get superpowers.
* A change from the usual admonishment for various creams and ointments I get prescribed, which invariably warn me not to put a diaper on the affected area until it has completely dried.
