A book you own that no one on your friends list does: Well, the really obvious one is, I bet, Sperm Wars by Robin Baker. It's fascinating yet hilarious, because while it's a serious science book, it's got ... something amusing besides the title. I own this book because I've got an MA in anthropology and human sexual biology is an interesting subject. Baker and someone whose name I've temporarily forgotten have done research on competition at the micro level as well as other aspect of the evolution of human sexual behavior, and this book is the layperson's version of various conclusions and theories they've got. However I'm nto sure who convinced them this was a good idea -- Baker illustrates the various theories with fictional scenarios, which ends up making a book that when you get tired of the science, you can flip to the porn. THe chapters alternate: science, porn, science, porn. (If you want a book on the subject that's a lot easier to take seriously, TImothy Taylor's The Prehistory of Sex is a really good roundup of the current science as of the early 1990s, when it was published)
A CD you own that no one on your friends list does: Probably Adam Stemple's Three Sharp Blows to the Head. I keep trying to get people to listen to him, but I'm not very good at convincing people of that.
A DVD/VHS tape you own that no one on your friends list does: Erm, harder because I don't own very many. The ones most likely not to be owned by others on my list are probably the Sorcerous Stabber Orphen Season 1 DVDs. (I's say Tampopo, but it's likely to be owned by at least one person that I can think of)
A place you've been that no one on your friends list has been: Probably Nairobi, Kenya. And if anyone's been there, then I'll say the Seronera Research Station in the Serengeti in Tanzania, because I lived there for two years and you haven't. :P :) (Otherwise, Carmarthen, in Wales, probably.)
