It's not that cosplay is inherently dorky, it's that cosplayers are often dorky. XD Eh, it's all a matter of your point of view. :D

And I think Ritsu goes by 'he' - it's jsut that dressing as a woman calms him down. But I can't be sure.

Wow! I didn't think my comment would go that far. And I wouldn't say that I'm a dork necessarily. I guess I just really enjoy putting together the costumes and then hanging out with a bunch of people 8 or 9 years younger than myself and squealing like a fangirl at the really good people dressed up as Ed (usually girls do it best...). Oh wait--I think that qualifies me as a dork - but not an annoying one (I hope!).
