AAARGH!

Thursday is going to SUCK ROCKS. Why? I've been short on sleep this week already, and here it is 12:30 AM and I'm still not in bed and probably won't be able to get to sleep for another half hour. And I didn't get any of the inking on Project Blue Rose that I needed to get done tonight, and I didn't answer any of the comments that you freaks of nature kind readers left on my "Hi! Who are you?" post.

Why?

Because I had the last six episodes of Fullmetal Alchemist to watch, that's why, and I just finished.

I trust you will understand.

And I made an appointment for the doctor on Monday - the knee I hurt when I fell down a couple of weeks ago - not the one I fell on, the other one, weirdly enough - isn't getting better, is in fact getting worse, and I remember almost two years of back pain hell from the last time I didn't get something treated quickly enough, so I'm going to nip this sucker in the bud.

HI I TRAUMATIZE YOU WITH ICON NOW. I have deep love for your icon, too.

I understand. I finished watching the last ep on the day it came out (oh god the pain of having to wait actual WEEKS between the last episodes), about ten minutes before a class. Sobbed on the walk there, hung on for the hour, came back and fell in bed and sobbed some more. SO HAVE FUN TOMORROW.

ICON ... inducing ... TRAUMA !!!!! Man, I need more FMA icons than just this one. It's hardly appropriate in some circumstances. It's by hypno_jango on Journalfen, who said it was free for ganking, so I ganked. :D

I'm very happy that [livejournal.com profile] rilina hooked me up with the entire second half of the series so I could watch them all fairly close together, and watch the last six episodes all at once. I'd heard various whisperings here and there and had assumed a particular ending and ... it wasn't that ending. Heh.

But I'm going to stagger around tomorrow from lack of sleep and AAAGGGH. At least I've got a copy of the movie, too. We'll see if I manage to use it as a reward this weekend for getting work done or not. Hah.

I have a few here (http://pics.livejournal.com/kate_nepveu/gallery/0000tkhc), though I really need to make some more. One for each major non-spoiler character, maybe.

(Still not done, averts eyes from any other comments.)

Ooh, sweet! *ganks Ed panicking and Hawkeye aiming* Thanks! :D

No problem. I do love that Hawkeye one, it's so very *her*.

(Now I want to screencap and I have no time! (You'd think I'd want to watch rather than screencap, but since we're watching dubs not fansubs first, I don't want to get ahead of the Adult Swim releases.))

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-01-19 03:21 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, I think I just realized one of the reasons I like FMA is that there's a decent amount of non-annoying female characters.

I just may gank it then, for it is the World's Perfect Ritsu Icon.

[livejournal.com profile] rashaka originally gave me up til episode 38 because she said she couldn't watch it by herself anymore ('cause she'd just finished 25 and oh THANK YOU for letting me share the trauma of that one). Everything after that I had to wait to watch as it aired/was fansubbed. AAAAGGGHHH. And then there was the yearlong wait for the movie. AAAAAAAGGGGGGHHH. (And I have the misfortune of not being particularly attached to the manga, so I can't really get my comforting canon-fix there.)

I have a handful of FMA icons of varying quality here that you are welcome to use, and any others icons I use (like this one!) that I made are free for the taking.

Cool, thanks. :D (Maybe I'll poke through them at the Ref desk, if I run out of LJ to read. XD)

Oh, my friend [livejournal.com profile] deralte has some really beautiful icons up on her website here (http://www.arianaderalte.com/icon1.htm). They're free to grab as long as you credit and comment.

[identity profile] rachelmanija.livejournal.com 2006-01-19 07:49 am (UTC)(link)
Heh. I actually do understand.

I remember sobbing my way through the entire last three episodes. The tinkly piano... the children's choir... and oh my God when Rose expresses concern, and Ed winks and grins at her... I think that was the point when I totally lost it.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-01-19 02:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't sob, but that was because (spoiler masking)
I'd picked up from various cryptic "OMG" comments made here and there around the net that there was some sort of tragic ending, and I'd predicted Ed would sacrifice himself to give Al his body back. And with the end of Ep 50, that seemed to be blown away, so then when Al started in with the alchemy, I went "Oooooo, no, Al sacrifices himself to get Ed back" ... and then it seemed to go back to my original prediction, and I was pretty damn convinced that Ed was dead. And then ... it had what I call an Escaflowne ending, where they're ripped apart with no guarantee that they'll ever see each other again though I think they have a better chance than the Escaflowne characters, and I was just sort of stunned and shellshocked from all the mental whiplash. XD

The last person I hooked up with FMA watched the last 23 episodes in one day. :)

If you're looking for a laught, check out the music. Musical quality is dubious. But some are quite cracktastically amusing (at least if you bother to look up the lyrics (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fm_alchemist/1452082.html))..

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-01-19 02:17 pm (UTC)(link)
"I wanna set you on fire?" *blink* *blink* *blink*

Why is it that I can actually see Roy saying that?

[identity profile] rilina.livejournal.com 2006-01-19 02:41 pm (UTC)(link)
That song is so wrong on so many levels. (But still amusing too.)

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-01-19 02:20 pm (UTC)(link)
* Oh - the last time I mainlined anime was with Fruits Basket, when I watched the last 2 discs in one day - 7 episodes each, I think - and staggered around for the rest of the evening in a Furuba!Crack-induced haze. A few years before that, I watched the entire third season of Utena in one day, which really isn't good for your mental stability, let me tell you.

I probably would have mainlined FMA if I didn't have to go to work and get other things done. This whole "responsible adult" thing really blows. As it was, the most I watched at once was six episodes on Sunday (interspersed with drawing and other things) and six last night.

[identity profile] rilina.livejournal.com 2006-01-19 02:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I watched most it during a vacation, but I don't think I watched more than 6 or 7 in any day. Mostly because I forced myself to slow down a little by writing episode commentary.

I did once watch 15 or so episodes of Bleach in one day--which is odd, when I think about it, as I like FMA much, much more.

Of course we understand. *pats your back*

[identity profile] apintrix.livejournal.com 2006-01-19 01:41 pm (UTC)(link)
ah yes. I understand all too well.

[identity profile] mscongeniality.livejournal.com 2006-01-19 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I totally understand...I've been watching FMA on Cartoon Network, myself and am now desperately regretting not having actually downloaded the episodes so I can get the torture over with! Must know more...must know end...

Oh and on an entirely different note, your Ritsu icon kills me ded. :)

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-01-19 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee - this is the ultimate Ritsu icon EVAR, isn't it? hypno_jango on Journalfen.net made it. XD

I believe a (properly credited) ganking is in order and will have to enact that from home this evening.
