telophase: (Death Note L Whiskey Tango Foxtrot)

(no subject)

Well, I've got this idea for a Death Note doujinshi rattling around my brain...

...but while I've got the story, I don't have the plot. I think I've got the emotional heart of the story, and I've got the setting and setup, but I haven't figured out any of the details. And the usual people I bounce ideas off of haven't read Death Note yet, although they say they will, so I can't talk about it to them without Huge Honking Spoilers. *glares at [livejournal.com profile] mothoc, [livejournal.com profile] chibipoe, and a couple of others not on LJ*

So ... if any of my readers out there is willing to bounce ideas around, let me know. If you haven't read DN yet and want to, let me know. I can hook ya up. (it's got stunning art, IMHO, and great writing that actually manages to survive translation, in some cases through two languages.)

Mind you, I don't have the time to draw it at the moment what with One Thing And Another, but I'm looking at a possible late-October time to start drawing, if my schedule remains the same. It'd be nice to actually have a script by then. *sigh* *whine* *arg*

I'd love to work out a script with you! Although if this is what I think it is - keraha's bondage doujinshi - you might want someone else. I've never written smut. I'm also not great at either Raito or L POV, because trust me I've tried and they both think too far left of normal for me to be really comfortable with. But! I can try again, and if it's just dialogue I am *so* there!

Drop me a line if you'll have me, AIM is onyahbear and email is onyabear @ yahoo.com.

While it was *sparked* by that discussion, it's not smut.[*] :) I think I can handle their POVs as long as I've got what's going on beneath the words worked out, which I think I have. My big problem is figuring out the words. I'll forward you an AIM conversation I had last night about it, and once you dig your way through my lousy syntax and typing, you'll (hopefully) be slightly more illuminated.

[*] I'm not opposed to throwing in a bit of tease, but with my conceptions of their characters, outright smut just really isn't possible if I want to stay in character.

^^ keraha's bondage doujinshi. I feel special, in a slightly dirty, good-lord-I-can't-believe-someone-put-my-name-up-with-"bondage-doujinshi" kind of way. XD In any case, I'd love to try and help. I don't know if I'd be able to contribute much, but... *shrug* The L and Raito dynamic intrigues me, and I like to pretend I'm not awful at writing it.

Er, if it's any consolation, I'm really not all that smutty. I've just been craving it. ^^ *sheepish* I think all the DN fics I've written are here (http://www.fanfiction.net/~keraha) if you want to see what you're getting into.

heehee. :) I really like them because of the intellectual fencing, I think. Anyway, I'll send it on in a sec. :)

Yes, and could you send my reply on as well? Or at least the parts you agree with. keraha, this is awesome! Of course you aren't smutty, you just like smutty things sometimes and since so do I and so does practically everyone... yeah.

Hey keraha, if we get stuck for dialogue raw material do you want to RP it? I've never done that before, it might be fun.

Glad to be aboard!

I'll forward it on to her. :) At lunch today I had an idea for the beginning and for a few things in the thing, so once I transcribe my handwriting and type it in, I'll send it on to both of you. (you think my typing on AIM is bad? You should see my handwriting...)

(Icon love! ;)

:DDD I got the emails and I wrote up a response. Don't know if it helps at all, but I tossed out some ideas. ^^ So far, it's sounding very, very nifty.

re: RPing. I've never tried that, either. I don't know if I'd be any good, but I'm always up for trying something new generally. :D

oh, and in reponse to POV and stuff, I'd love to help edit. Wording usually isn't too bad for me.

Cool. I'll be reading the emails in a bit - damn that whole 'real job' thing. :)

I know from experience that I'm not good at realtime RP because I just don't think quickly enough to improvise, which probably also has to do with my writing and art style of throwing a bunch of stuff at a wall and seeing what sticks, but don't let me stop you. :) If it works, it works.

I've read through volume 10, thanks. trying to find time for the other 20 volumes .

Good, good, you're getting there. :) It really picks up at 11, when you meet L and the cat-and-mouse game truly commences.

Once you get to 30, I've got connections for Chinese scanlations of 31-36 along with amazingly decent English text translations, too. Events in 31-36 *really* start turning the screws.

Am I One Thing or Another? ;)

Why yes, yes you are. :D
