No, it's not an efficiency - the bedroom is down the hall. :) The futon used to be my bed, but when I moved to this apartment (from a one-bedroom that was a little over 400 square feet!), I bought a queen-sized mattress and box spring and relegated the futon to the living room as a sofa.
The bathroom is below the kitchen on this diagram, and the utility closet is across the hall from it. The entrance is really a 6' square space extending downwards from the above floorplan, but since there's no way to put anything in there, I didn't bother with drawing it in. :)
