BPAL review: Laudanum

Laudanum

BPAL description: From the Sin & Salvation collection. The essence of the most debauched hunger encapsulated into a perfume. Desire beyond love, anguish beyond sanity. Nutmeg, sassafras, black poppy and myrrh. (Traditionally masculine)

In vial: Can smell the nutmeg and what I think is the sassafras - it's faintly reminiscent of a root beer-type drink.

Wet: Whoa - root beer.

Dry: The root beer fades and the myrrh comes out, with a touch of spice.

Notes: Cat: *sniffs* ""WTF?"" The myrrh is working well, but unfortunately it's just too faint to smell after 10 or so minutes. There's plenty of other perfumes that are stronger on me. Off to the swap pile!

Heh. I'll have to try straight amber at some point and see what it's like. The Lion works good on me, and it's mostly amber with dry grass, and sophia_helix should be sending me some Jacob's Ladder, which is primarily amber from what I understand, so I have high hopes for it. :D
