Comic font sale Sunday

www.comicbookfonts.com is having their annual font sale on New Year's Day - any font they have is $20.06. And considering they're usually on the order of $99-149 ... good deal.

I'm debating Astro City - it looks to be what Saiyuki is lettered in, and it's never annoyed me when reading - I've never noticed it when reading, so that is a Good Thing.

I love fonts. :D In my book-printing class there was a poster on the wall I would kill to have now; it was samples of the complete catalog of one type foundry. The little lead slug kind of type, naturally--we were using old proofing presses and California job cases filled with 12-point Bodoni and cleaning up all the inked surfaces with kerosene at the end of a day's run. When computer fonts came out, I could really appreciate them!

Astro City is indeed the font we use for Saiyuki. :-) I really like it, especially if you've got enough space to use it (Saiyuki has unusually large, oval balloons).

XD Thanks! I've noticed when fake-lettering Project Blue Rose that I've got space for a bigger font - it certainly won't hurt to have the speech balloons larger - so that may work.

Now I just have to debate a font with lower-case letters for those non-balloon asides ("We get helicopters?"), and possibly look at the Wiccan font for emphasis, because I rather like it. XD

I don't know if comicbookfonts has these or not, but I like Marita Medium or Litterbox for asides. Lots of options though. :-)
