BPAL review: Danse Macabre
(And two days ago I ordered this imp from someone. You'd think I'd remember to check my review spreadsheet, wouldn't you?)
Danse Macabre
BPAL description: From the Funereal Oils collection. An allegorical expression of the ineffable, indisputable triumph of death, generally expressed in medieval artwork as a violin or flute-wielding skeleton leading a procession of dancers to their graves. Black cypress with oakmoss, frankincense, oude, and a sliver of toasted hazelnut.
In vial: Interesting. Vaguely ecclesiastical, as to be expected with the frankincense, with other notes I can't identify.
Wet: Top note that smells like a candle that has just been put out, dissipating quickly. It leaves behind … water. It smells like an actual tank of water to me. Not like the aquatics that I've tried, which don't smell a thing like water, but actual, real, water.
Dry: Water. And then pretty much vanishes.
Notes: Cat a bit perturbed by it. It's an interesting experience, but since it goes to water and then goes very faint, I don't think there's much point in me keeping it.
