A moment...

...to let dinner cool down before I eat it. Last week I bought a bag of chicken and dumplings that youthrow into the corckpot and cook. "Dumplings" is a bit of a misnomer, because they weren't dumplings at all, they were squares of pasta. Now, they tasted good, as did the rest of the dish, but they weren't dumplings. I'd have to tag it more of a chicken noodle stew. Yummy, however.

Yesterday I looked for it at the store, but they were out of that and instead had some other sort of chicken noodle casserole-y dish, which I bought thinking they couldn't be too far apart. It's fine - is overly hot and is cooling down now but tastes fine. My one problem with this company is that, because they have raw chicken in the bag, you are exhorted twice in the directions to WASH YOUR HANDS. My response?

BAG OF FOOD, YOU ARE NOT MY MOTHER.

Banquet does not wish to be sued when you contract salmonella from its product. Hence, it asks you to wash your hands. It asks repeatedly because PEOPLE ARE STUPID and will sue a meat packager for food poisoning that the meat packager has no control over. Because PEOPLE ARE STUPID.

So wash your hands. And don't sue Banquet when you get salmonella from mishandling chicken. :)

However, if they do not put that in there, some idiot will come along and sue them for getting food poison from it....
