An open letter to my cat...

Dear cat:

Cute though you may think you are, when I am doing the dishes, your presence inside the dishwasher is neither useful nor wanted.

Love,
The one with opposable thumbs

My dog tries to get in the dishwasher, too, because she is Helpful. You see, there might be something we'd forgotten in there. She has to investigate. Who knows what will turn up.

Hee. My cat lives for the times when I open the folding doors to the laundry nook/area where the washer and dryer are, because not only can she investigate this sadly unsniffed area, but if she manages to move quickly, she can jump up to the shelf above the w/d where I can't reach her, and stare down at me, which is apparently an overwhemling ambition in her life.

The wee beast, too, likes to be Up High, preferably Higher Than Monkeys.

lol

Minnow likes to watch stuff go down the drain, like the washer water, or soap from dishes. And she for some reason likes to dig the vents out of the floor.

Oh, in my case -

Dear cat:

When I'm doing dishes, your assistance is not required in or around the water, and certainly, not on the dish drainer.

Thank you.

Oooh, but I've always thought it really IS cute when a cat gets obsessive about climbing inside any of the various household Watery Boxes.

And it's usually so EASY to make 'em stop when it's no longer cute.

(Yes, I'm evil.)
