In search of...

... desktop wallpaper again. It has to be 1280 x 1024 - that what the new monitor runs and I'm tired of having big borders around everything. I like subtly-colored ones, and ones that don't use black or white as a background. If you've been reading my LJ for too long, you'll know what sort of series I like. :D

Now have at it. :D

There's cool fractal designs over at www.hilltopdesigns.com which you can set as your wallpaper (they stretch nicely). I'm using "flat universe" right now.

.... Even if I plugged it before, I'll plug it again: http://www.desktopanime.com/

I just think the wallpapers there are purty. o_o/

And it has nothing to do with the large amount of Kino no Tabi wallpapers. Nope! Not at all! Okay, a little.

All the subtle ones I have are the wrong size, and all the 1280 ones I've got use black or white for the background. XD I did find a couple that were close, anyhow: http://leech.zettai-hentai.net/walls/

It's not fandom (except for typography and layout fans, but hey maybe that applies?)... but I love the free wallpaper I get from http://www.veer.com although you need to register to access it.

It's a cool site for professional graphic designers and "creatives" even if you don't need to buy the stock photography or fonts they sell. They were highly recommended to our class when I was in a graphic design program at college, and I've been a member for about 3 years now. A few times a year they send me pretty print catalogues of new typefaces and stock photos, which are very inspiring for layout, colour combinations, and photography to inspire art. Last year they sent me a "Summer Activity Book For Creatives" full of fun puzzles, even though I've never given them a dime. ^_^
