I'm afraid I have to disagree. I think our Chinese dinner proved that you, me, and [livejournal.com profile] oyceter are all hobbits-- the race that truly enjoys its food.

Back in undergrad I spent a semester abroad in Wales, and ten days after the semester travleign around England and Scotland. My roommate and several other people had a monthlong trip around Europe, and to save money they were practicing not eating before they went.

I, OTOH, dined my way in comfort around the UK. The occasional sandwich or baguette-and-cheese from the supermarket, eaten while sitting on a park bench, is OK but not on a daily basis, and I do not regret my choice. I only wish I'd had a month in which to dine around Europe. XD

Madness! I save money by staying in crap hotels, since when I'm traveling, all I need is a bed to sleep on.

My mother saves money by not allowing me into bookstores. :D
