Any of you happen to be a Wordpress designer? Who has time/space available, like, very very soon? For the amount of money I can afford? (er, $500)

(This post brought to you by more SEVERE FRUSTRATION at not being able to get what I want onto a website. And yes, I was a website designer.)

eta: On the bright side, I can supply all the graphics and content and a general idea of what I'd like this very simple site to look like, and I am not too fussed about SEO optimization.

YES. And part of my problem is having been out of the Wordpress game for some years so it’s moved on, and everyone’s stuffing their themes with bells and whistles I don’t need and don’t want.

And 95% of portfolio themes want your art to be landscape in a specific aspect ratio or square! And the ones that are OK for other shapes and ratios can’t handle multiple different ones, like front covers vs full wrap covers. ARG!

Still working on it, though. I may end up hand-rolling HTML or hopping over to Carrd. Or find someone willing to work for cheap. :/

I too am headed to a hand-coded site. The only thing I'd miss is my quizzes. But it's juuuust so cluuuuunky.

I have gotten to the point where I can generally beat a theme into the shape I want, but it still takes trial and error. And then Kiro asked for help getting an art website up, and we both just about defenstrated wordpress.
