MEOW meow MeOw MEOW

Sora’s back from getting irradiated! Now he has to stay isolated for two weeks, during which each of us can visit him for 20 minutes a day, and he is Not Happy. We have child locks on the pertinent doors—my office, which connects to a Jack-and-Jill bathroom and the other door to the bathroom, which has a separate sink area with its own door so there’s effectively an airlock that allows us to get in without letting determined cats out.

And Sora is determined: he’s trying like hell to open the doors, is throwing himself bodily at the doors, and crying to be let out. Too bad he doesn’t understand “You can’t lie on us because you are RADIOACTIVE!”

He’s got a nice suite, though: his own litterbox, food and water, a window with cat furniture to gaze outside, and a number of baskets and beds (all of which are either washable, vacuumable, or lined with towels) to curl up in. He’s just missing me.

We moved all the important parts of my office out to the dining room, so I can continue work, at least.

Poor kitty. :( It's so hard when they don't understand.

When our dearly departed Eminence Grise was irradiated, they told us to lock her out of the room and we noted that we’d be unable to sleep. This went back and forth until they finally said, “Try not to let her sleep on your head for at least 3 days.” Granted, this was 20 years ago.
