Interior design decisions!

So! I'm working on a moodboard for [personal profile] myrialux's home office, since he's now telecommuting and needs (a) a nice Zoom background and (b) an office that is not a dumping ground for every excess piece of furniture in the house, the way it is now.

I'm also evaluating Milanote for use in cover design stuff, so hey. The read-and-comment-only version is here, while the screenshot-and-crop version is under the cut. (note: if you decide to try Milanote for yourself, use this link and I get extra storage space. It's free for up to 100 cards. You can do pretty much full-scale design project management with it for $10/month so I'm thinking of doing that for the cover business, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.)

The question is: WHICH SIDE CHAIR?

Existing things: THE WALL COLOR. We are not repainting, don't suggest it. That's what the background olive-ish color of the moodboard is. The dark red computer chair, the desk, and the two monitors. The beat-up printer cabinet is a sentimental piece and thus also stays. The Blues Brothers and Daft Punk posters are pretty much what I'm basing the design and color scheme around, and we expect that the Discworld puzzle will also go up as soon as we actually do the puzzle, glue it together, and frame it. If that one doesn't go up, it'll probably be one of the Death ones (this or this), so lots of purples/blues. But I expect it's the Hex one we'll use, as it's thematically appropriate, and [personal profile] myrialux loves blues, purples and greens. And it'll help the red chair fit into the overall color scheme. :)

To buy: The rug. Two of the bookcase (it or a similar industrial-ish one with dark metal and wood)The cat tree and Mario cat stuff will form his Zoom background, as his coworkers love seeing peoples' pets. And finally, the side chair, which is what I and [personal profile] myrialux are indecisive on.

Given that I'm going to be the person sitting in the side chair most of the time, and that it's also going to be pulled out to the living room to provide seating on occasion when there are multiple people over, I'm making sure it can seat me comfortably, which will allow pretty much everyone else we know to sit there. The camel-colored ones fit with the industrial-ish vibe and bounce off the wood in the room, but the blue and purple fit the artwork and work with the general curves of the carpet, adding a contrast to the industrial-ish vibes.

The 3D image shows you how the room will be laid out. [personal profile] myrialux hates sitting back to door or window. The wall that's missing has the room door and the door to a closet on it, and will also host one of the vertical posters in the space that's left (you can see the faint ghosting). I'm also putting wall shelves above the printer cabinet for displaying figurines and things, which is what the shelving unit merging with the cabinet is meant to represent.

I like the blue more in an of itself, but I think the purple goes better with the other colors in the room (particularly the dark red office chair, the olive-ish walls, and the various woods) as well as with the slightly different blues of the posters.
