Website

I've just embedded my Livejournal onto my extremely-out-of-date website at www.telophase.net, because I got tired of people emailing me queries about costuming and such, when I haven't had time to do any in a year and a half or so. At any rate, you can now read my LJ there if you want, although the PHP method I'm using doens't allow you to read protected entries, so if you're on my friendslist, you'll have to stay here to experience all the fun and excitement.

How'd you go about doing that? I've been wanting to do it for awhile myself, but all the techniques I saw involved installing Moveable Type and syndicating to LJ.

I used PHP, but there's several ways to do it, with HTML, PHP, ASP, Javascript, and so on. If you're a paid user, it's easier, I think.

I used the fpassthru() method for S2 given on the PHP page linked from there.

The hardest bit I had was trying to figure out what the hell my style ID was. If you use the S2 system, you do that by going to the Advanced Customization Center (http://www.livejournal.com/customize/advanced/) and clicking on Your Styles, which will give you a list of styles you've got with the current one highlighted. If you use S1, I have no clue if that will give it to you or not.

Hey, I just got the notice from Rachel about Project Blue Rose. My PayPal is still credit card -- I haven't gotten around to linking to my bank account (because I'm paranoid and want to set up a seperate account for the purpose), so is credit card PayPal okay for you or not?

Yes, it's fine-- it's specifically set up so that's OK.

Ohhh that avatar of yours...I think I have seen it somewhere, such a great art-work. The best were the eyes of the smaller guys. That only was worth looking at the final work.

cool! I had tried doing that with my site but alas, Dreamhost has a setting that prevents me from using anything but an iframe... which I detessssst!

My webspace is provided by a friend who runs his own ISP. It's so nice to be able to do most anything I want with it. XD
