Walk into hotel room. Television is on, with welcome message. Ignore it while hauling luggage in, going down to eat a quick dinner, etc.

Eventually get around to noticing television is still on. Decide to turn it off. Remote is not on TV stand, nor beside the bed. Look around for remote.

Find remote, across from bed, on the dresser next to the…other television.

I’m not sure which is stranger: that we have two giant televisions in this room or that we DIDNT NOTICE until we’d been in the hotel for two hours.

Bwah!

I always notice a giant TV in a hotel room but that's partly because we don't have TVs at home so they're always a fascinating alien object. :) I might have missed the second one because I wouldn't expect a second, though!
