Ooooh, nice! The answer is pretty much YES to all of the above. XD I was most recently wondering about street foods and what we know about them--what sorts of things could you buy on the way home from work, how it would be served (I guess if it's in bowls you stand there and eat it, then give the bowl back?). I recently came across a reference from a book on 18th century Venice that mentioned lowering a basket from a window so a seller of cooked greens of some sort could put their wares into it, and then the housewife would serve it up at dinner. Which means I'm all "Are the greens dumped into the basket with no dish below them? Did the housewife send a dish down for them? How where they cooked? Was the money to pay for it sent in the basket, or was it more of a regular thing that they billed weekly/monthly for? And all sorts of questions that we'll probably never have the answers to. XD
