XD I gave myself Soldiers' Lives Through History: The Early Modern World as a birthday present (academic press, therefore spendy XD) and the two books it directs me to for more general information on the lives of Landsknechts are the ones I'd love to read, but alas, cannot. you point the camera at the text, and it provides a translation. In Taiwan I pointed it at menus, manuals, and TV captions. It did okay, which to me is pretty damn impressive.
Translating menus was interesting. Somethings would toggle between semi reasonable attempts and gibberish. Maybe it thought the different dishes were all part of a sentence or paragraph? Or high falutin names like Jade Chicken threw it off.
Anyway, while not as bad as typing out a book or copy/pasting over and over, running it like a scanner to read a book would not be fun. But by patience, I meant I hope it gets a LOT better in the not too distant future.
