Yeesh

Our A/C conked out and as it was rapidly approaching 80°F in the house,
we decamped for the closest hotel. It’s a two-star hotel—yes we checked for
bedbugs—and it shows. In higher-end hotels, you know how you get that long,
thin cover draped over the end of the bed, presumably to save the comforter
from shoes if you lie down on it? In this hotel it’s PRINTED on the
comforter. I’ll post a picture later.

If the A/C people can’t come out tomorrow or can’t fix it tomorrow, I’ll be
checking for other hotels in the area. Our house in a weirdly dead spot for
hotels, which I find odd because we’re near a couple of hospitals and a
bunch of medical offices, so you’d expect one closer to us.

Oh no, I'm so sorry! We had to get our AC repaired recently as it was on its last legs, so narrowly escaped your situation. I hope you can get it fixed soon and/or that y'all find a nicer hotel to stay in!

D: I remember Texas ants. Ants in the hotel, or ants in the AC?!

(My mom is the neatest and cleanest person imaginable and even she couldn't get rid of TEXAS ANTS when we lived in Houston.)
