WHATS MISSING FROM THIS MOVIE IS THE STORY OF THE MENZ WHO WERE VICTIMIZED*
because how the fuck could you not realize that this is a movie about
female friendship and the men who got hustled are just set dressing? Oh
yes: because you are a man who doesn’t understand that women have lives
outside of men.
Anyway, the movie is shot entirely from a female POV: you start at the club
on Destiny’s first night there, when she’s unsure and feeling like an
outsider, and then Ramona, and the movie, welcomes both her and the camera
in, and it’s shot like you’re one of the group. You see women dancing for
men, but never from the men’s POV, and almost all the men are observers, on
the outside, sitting there slack-jawed or throwing money at the women
thinking that it makes them in charge when they’re the ones getting screwed.
Anyway. Recommended. Unless you’re an emetophobe because unfortunately one
of the side characters has a nervous stomach, alas.
