When you're a self-published author trying to promo yourself with free books and your newsletter subject line is "You're Free Book is Ready," it doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence in your writing.
Not as bad as the one who paid hundreds for an ad in the Bookbub newsletter and plugged it with superlatives . . . not mentioning title, plot, subgenre, or anything that would make me wonder what it was (art was pretty SF-ish).
