BPAL Review: Nanshe
Nanshe
BPAL description: From the Somnium collection. Dream Formula IV. The Babylonian Goddess of Dreams, who bestows the power of Oneiromancy onto her priests. This blend opens up psychic sensitivity during sleep and aids in the understanding and correct interpretation of portents and symbols. (Gender neutral)
In vial: Lemongrass, with ... lavender?
Wet: Lemongrass
Dry: Lemon Pledge for a bit, then a soft lemon, then vanishes.
Notes: Forgot to check it on the cat, so you'll have to live without the cat report. It'll be tough, but I know you can make it. This not something I'd wear every day, but the lemon is kinda soothing. I put it on shortly before I went to bed in order to see what-all my dreams would be, and when I woke up at 4 AM, it was after a dream about a talking cat. Typically for cats, it was more interested in discussing its litterbox than in imparting any nuggets of universal wisdom.
Then I went back to sleep and had a fairly vivid dream. If it was psychic in any way, however, I'm more inclined to think that it was predicting a future episode of CSI than anything useful. It opened with a black woman in a densely black-and-white patterned dress, wearing high heels: one black, one white, stumbling down some stairs. She told me she was going to a Black & White Ball when I asked if she was OK. (I think I might almost sense some sort of theme here.) I got the sense that later she'd turn up dead.
Then it cut to a forensics lab - this is how I know it's CSI and not Law & Order: [Blah] - where I was using forceps to try to pick up some very very tiny pins and put them in a plastic bag for some sort of testing. The head of the lab came into the room (sorry, no recognizable actors, so it's probably CSI: Iowa or any of the 437864 variants that are bound to come up in future years), and then the scene changed to a highway. A pickup truck in the lane ahead of me careened across the highway into another one. There may have been gunshots; I'm not sure. And then my clock radio turned on and insisted on talking economics at me so I was forced to get up.
So, it seems that if I am truly psychic, it serves primarily to alert me of upcoming episodes of network television. Remember: you heard it here first! Feel free to explain what the dreams mean. ;)

But I suppose it's balanced by the cat in the dream, so.
Seriously, I think it's the cat report that got me interested in reading your BPAL reviews which wore down my resistance to being assimilated, so if I get addicted to BPAL it's all the cat's fault. *nods*
