BPAL review: Centzon Totochtin

[livejournal.com profile] puppleball, I'm totally bringing this one to your party! The four hundred divine rabbits command me to!

Centzon Totochtin

BPAL description: From the Excolo collection. The Four Hundred divine rabbits of the Aztec pantheon that preside over parties and drunkenness. Bittersweet Mexican cocoa with rum, red wine, and a scent redolent of sacrificial blood.

In vial: Cocoa and a touch of rum, and something deep and red. Reminds me of trips down to Laredo and hanging out in the bar we hang out at down there.

Wet: Dark cocoa, almost wood. A touch of rum. Something almost smoky.

Dry: Fairly subtle, actually. A sort of dark, smoky berry.

Notes: Frimp with a bottle of Velvet from an LJ order. The cat would rather sleep than sniff. I like this a lot -not sure I'd buy a bottle, but I'm keeping the imp.

It's rare that my experience of an imp matches the name or the Lab's description, but this does somehow remind me of road trips to Laredo, down on the Mexican border, where we get a hotel on the Texas side, then cross the bridge to Nuevo Laredo, hang out in this bar a block from the border, then stagger back across the bridge. Man, we haven't done that in a while.

Given the trouble in Laredo over the past year, I'd suggest we choose another border town.

Or we could go to Tiajuana. ;)

:D

I found a place in New Mexico (http://www.nmskies.com/) near Cloudcroft that caters to amateur astronomy buffs - you can rent time on telescopes and they don't allow headlights or non-red flashlights after dark, and have cabins you can rent. There was some intrest in it a couple of years ago, but that never happened - I wonder if I can stir up some more?

Sounds good to me. Next party is Mid November in celebration of my 30th birthday.
