Overheard at Panera

Last week Toby and I ate dinner at Panera, and sat near a woman with a loud voice who regaled us all her dinner companion with various stories and opinions. Near the end of the meal, I made notes on what I remembered she said.

1. Speed dating hack: bring snacks like beef jerky bites. The other women at the event told her she was cheating.
2. Something about the Rothschilds and “I totally support her. She has evidence proving she’s a duchess.”
3. A weird metaphor about monkeys reaching into pockets and “I don’t want to be that monkey.”

I wish I could have heard more, but Toby was closer to them and there was an SAT tutoring session going on at another table closer to me whose content kept drifting over and interrupting my very important eavesdropping on that table! XD

Ahahahaha! Yeah, IMO SAT tutoring is way less likely to be exciting to eavesdrop on. ;)

Yeah. Although we were both a bit intrigued by the question of whether the tutee was ESL or had gotten her GED or HS diploma slightly later in life and was heading to college. She seemed slightly older than high school, but she did have an older woman, presumably her mother, sitting with them.

But nowhere near as interesting as duchesses and monkey metaphors!
