I am a small business owner whose clients are small business owners. Getting rid of net neutrality will gut my business and theirs.
I am a graphic designer, web designer, and artist who makes covers for ebooks. I am absolutely dependent on internet access, including social media, to market my business, to find my clients, to contact my clients, to perform my services--I purchase fonts and stock artwork from online vendors-- and to deliver my final designs, websites, and artworks.
My clients are also small business owners--authors--and are absolutely dependent on the internet to find me, to market their ebooks, and to sell their ebooks.
The profit margins in this business are slim. If I have to pay more to access the sites on the internet that I need to market my business or to access components I need for my designs, I will have to raise my prices. If I do that, I lose a number of my clients.
If my clients have to pay more for internet access, their already-slim margins will vanish and they will not be able to write and sell their books.
I am a small business owner. And I vote.
that's enough social justice work for today.
