[Poll #2021425]

This post brought to you by my low-burning annoyance at people who obviously pronounce it COMPLETELY WRONG. (How do I pronounce it? rot13: Bcgvba ahzore gjb)

To be honest, I'm boggling a bit at the other options. None of them would ever have occurred to me ...

I also once had a subordinate with that name, who was using the pronunciation I selected.

Rhymes with Google is the funniest, though. It SHOULD be pronounced like that.

I've heard 'em all!

Heh--that would be a way to remember it.

I've heard it!

Looking at the results, I'm wondering if the oggle/ohgle divide in pronunciation is a generational thing...and when I think back on the times I've heard it as "oggle," it's always a younger person in my memory. Which is fallible, I admit.

Rhymes with "toggle" for me, but then I do live on a small island that seems to go out of its way to collect as many dialects and odd pronunciations as possible. :)

Same! Though I'm in a peninsula + island called Nova Scotia.

England here. It's interesting how it always seems to be the smaller places that try and cram in the most accents as possible in a 50 mile radius. :)

Possibly! I'm going to make a post about it and ask about regions, and see what the patterns are.
