So!

Long time no post. Heh. Anyway, a few days ago I bought some clothes from Kiyonna, and they had a $25 Mystery Sale where they sent you something they haven't been able to get rid of in your size. The mystery item I got was...



this dress:



It's a very nice dress and looks good on me, but while on the model it looks like a slightly dressy but still kind of casual dress, on me it goes Full Formal Sicilian Widow.

So now I get to figure out how to dress it *down*, given that there are no funerals in my immediate future.

Cute dress! I like the asymmetric bodice.

My own Sicilian widow dress (this silhouette, in black) I usually dress down with eye-searingly bright tights--turquoise or fuchsia.

I may have to try that idea. I'm considering getting the dress taken up a bit--I'm at least six inches shorter than the model in that picture, and the dress' hem is correspondingly lower. More visible acreage of eye-searingly bright tights would probably help.

I definitely lucked out on getting it. There's some things in their catalog that totally don't work on me (and I'd have been posting here trying to sell it on, in that case!), but it does.

I'm thinking of getting it shortened a bit, as I am at least six inches shorter than the model. I also forgot (because it's waiting for me to take it in and get the sleeves shortened) that I bought this coat: http://www.torrid.com/product/fantastic-beasts-queenie-coat/10769845.html?cgid=popculture_fantastic_beasts#start=4

That might go with it nicely once the dress is shortened.

I concur. A brightly colored string of chunky beads and a chunky casual bracelet would help, and so would matching colorful shoes.
