So, we went and saw the Trek movie this morning...
WHY WOULD YOU HAVE A VILLAIN WHOSE ENTIRE PHILOSOPHY IS THAT THERE IS NO STRENGTH IN UNITY...

Well, the best I can say about it is that it was a collection of plot holes that were ones we hadn't seen before, unlike the first two movies.
Okay, I liked the humorous bits and there were things here and there that I liked, but when the overall movie doesn't engage me so that I'm sitting there through the entire thing mentally inserting the Master Chief* in instead of paying much attention, there's problems. Ah well.
* My thing of late for getting myself through tedious data-entry type of stuff at work is to put Let's Plays of Halo on in the background. No, I don't know why, other than to speculate that as there is little plot and less character development, it provides noise and motion that I can dip into every so often without worrying that I've lost track.
