I have been stuck on hold with IKEA customer service for twenty minutes now. The only thing stopping me from hanging up is the sure and certain knowledge that if it's this bad at this time in the morning, it'll be even worse later on.
Thirty minutes on hold for a two-minute conversation. :/
We got a delivery last week of some cabinets, and it turns out the delivery company reported one of the doors as broken, so IKEA was sending a replacement. But we'd put the cabinets together and there was no damage at all. Neither of us was inclined to rearrange schedules to have someone home to accept delivery of a door that we didn't need. Arg.
No clue. The last time we ordered a large amount of stuff from IKEA was 5 years ago, right after we moved in to our house. The delivery guys who showed up told me they were missing one box, and said it would be sent out on the next truck to go to our area, a week later. No truck showed. I sent several emails to no response.
Eventually Toby did the smart thing and counted the boxes we had, and discovered that nothing was missing. I sent one last email, complaining about the delivery company, and go no response to that, either.
So, yeah: the shipments have always been fine, but the delivery company inexplicably has its head up its ass.
