(The male cardinal that hangs around our feeder is oddly chill. It's his mate that fights the cardinal in the window, not him! We named them Zeus and Hera, based on Hera's canonical jealousy.)

oh wait - is that a cardinal? We don't have those and I didn't see them often in school and they always looked fake to me.

(Similarly, fireflies. Totally fake. Like unicorns, only less likely. XD )

Yup! Bright red guys, usually kind of cranky. The females are duller, but Hera, the female of the pair that lives nearby, likes to fight the cardinal in the window, which is odd because it's usually the male that does that.

Hera is Sora's bane. He haaaaates her!

edit: Man, the best part of summer nights in Texas is going out and catching fireflies in jars! Or I should say "was" because they're disappearing (http://www.firefly.org/why-are-fireflies-disappearing.html), alas.
