[livejournal.com profile] dragonscholar needs a bit o'research into characteristics he can use for his Anime Fangirl Fantasy Generator, which produces over-the-top descriptions of male anime heartthrobs. So head over there and post!

:D! That can happen. Sometimes when you're watching it I watched Glühen first, so for me it's: gleefully homicidal, near-suicidally morose, hypocritical, and guiltily manipulative. (...but that might almost work for Saiyuki, too.)

Ken's actually the one who brings the most snark, though Yohji's flashier about it. I'd call Yohji the angsty one, with the dead Asuka yearning, and Aya only moonlights as both a florist and an assassin. His real job is Brooder of Ages (TM).

In Saiyuki, they all take turns with the angsty snarky broody cute. I'd divide them into Flirty, Polite, Cheerful, and Misanthropic. Replace Flirty with Cute, and you'd have the Yami no Matsuei cast.
