Colored pencil on drafting film. I merged two purchased stock photos together in Photoshop, then went to town on it. The impetus behind this one is mostly trying out the media rather than anything involving the content.

It looks nice. How did you enjoy the drafting film?

I gotta get used to it (I just posted another one I did on it). I really like that I can erase easily, and that it doesn't smear if I drag my hand across it, but OTOH shading via cross-hatching was never my strong suit, and it's really called for here.

The stuff I got has this on the cover: "Dura-Lar: Archival polyester film for drawing, drafting & mixed media. .005 two-sided matte film." I found it at Michael's in the drafting/architecture section, with the T-squares and all that. Not sure what else to call it!

I was really looking for vellum, and they didn't have that. This seemed to be the closest thing they had. It also takes ink, but takes a short while to dry thoroughly.

Gotcha, thanks for the rundown! Next time I'm at Hobby Lobby or Michael's I'll see if ours has some. (We usually go to the Hobby Lobby because it's closer, but the selection is obvs. different, so...)
