I love 'em, but they are rat bastards. Look at that fearsome beak!

Wow, that is quite a beak up close! I'm never pissing off a bluejay.

They'll dive-bomb cats! And are opportunistic predators on bird eggs and chicks, alas.

chomiji had an encounter with one attacking a chick recently. :/ Otherwise I wouldn't have remembered.

Oh, that's right, I remember reading that, but the species of the attacker-bird had left my memory.

I'm happy we had one the other too. I've been worried about them as we had such an awful winter. Even though they are nasty gluttons most of the time.

Thy're beautiful--and that blue can look really, really dark if they're damp, I've found. XD
