My brand-spanking-new pre-ordered copy of The Thrilling Adventures of Lovelace and Babbage: The (Mostly) True Story of the First Computer
arrived today! Yaay!
Alas, I've got to spend a couple of hours working on a website before I can really sink down into the book. *cries*
If you're not sure if you'll like the book, read the comics here. Then go buy the book--it's a significantly expended version of those comics, plus more stories, plus copious historical footnotes and liberal doses of funny. And the book's cover under the dust jacket is better than the dust jacket. (You could buy it on Kindle, but given the comics nature of it, plus all the footnotes and endnotes, it's probably better enjoyed in 3D format.)
