I have a small visitor at work today

Very very tiny, hence the bad phone photo, as it's as close as I can get and be reasonably in focus.



A jumping spider of some ilk, I surmise after watching it perform a pretty good leap, but I'm not sure which type. I also assume it's female, because my dad told me years and years ago that most spiders you see are female, so that's stuck in my head.

Much better than the horsefly in my office last week.

Awww -- a cutie!

She hung around next to my keyboard for a while, then eventually moved to hide behind one of the risers I occasionally use to prop my keyboard on when I stand to work, at which point I was able to duck around and look at her head-on to see her tiny little eyes. :) And after a while I looked again and she'd moved on.

That fly was so big, I think it might have squashed her if it landed on her!
