(The white conte crayon isn't as harsh in spots in real life: the scanner emphasized it here. I could attempt to fix in in Photoshop, but that would start screwing with the texture form the paper and would be a serious rabbit hole to head down, so no.)

I'd happily see it on my wall. I like the irregular bubbles and the swishy-floaty hair, but I think what I appreciate the most are the fish scales. I have no idea why my brain is so impressed with that part over everything else, but there you go.

Thanks! The scales were easy once I stared at photos for a while and realized that you only really saw them on the darkest and lightest parts of the fish, so that's where I needed to draw them. And the conte crayon doesn't have a fine point, so it's pretty much white dots instead of scale shapes. :D
