Things I have recently gotten Toby

Toby, if you haven't gotten an email yet--you'll know it when you see it--don't click here. :)

I have started a habit of finding silly name-this-thing for gifts for Toby which, given that he's a bit squirmy about receiving presents*, works well.

So, thanks to a promotion last year and a new promotion this year, there are (theoretically) two roaches at the Bronx Zoo named Toby and The Other Toby

For Christmas, I named a Cornish lobster Toby. This one supplied a registration number, so we can get online and see when and where it's released, even!

I shall be on the lookout for more of these, because I find them funny. Toby tolerates them with good grace.

* And complains that all his dad says he wants for gifts is golf balls. Hello! :)

Hey, if you find anything like that for crustaceous crabs, let me know? Or what are the search terms? :D

yay for surprise presents!^^ And--can you put faces on golf balls? Not necessarily with googly eyes, but just marker or painted faces?...I know, I'm weird, but you would *definitely* know whose balls were whose!

I should probably suggest that, for next time! :D

Is there something like this for goats? My friend Jeremy likes goats, and I've been wondering if there is an "adopt a goat" thing that isn't one of those Oxfam options.

So far the only one I know is Heifer International, which isn't really a "name a goat" type of thing. XD
