BPAL review: Kumiho

BPAL description: From the Diabolus collection. Nine-tailed fox demon of Korean lore who transforms into the visage of an irresistible beauty in order to seduce men and lead them to their doom. A sharp, biting blend of crisp white tea and ginger.

In vial: Subtle. Can't get a whole lot of it from the imp, but it seems faintly reminiscent of lemon Pledge, the furniture duster/polish stuff. Which is not all bad, because I always kinda liked it.


Wet: Even more like Lemon Pledge.

Dry: Very subtle lemon Pledge.

Notes: Cat still irritated that I feel the need to wake her up to smell stuff. Final verdict: fades quickly, smells like lemon Pledge, sorry, nope, gotta go even though I like the smell - on the furniture, not on me. I think I can very faintly detect the tea as it dries, but I have to sniff hard.

Mine wasn't as, er, furniture polish, and more ginger, but it died in something like 15 minutes. This depressed me terribly, because! Nine-tailed fox! ("Demon" is, er, kind of a loose translation.)

Yah. White and ginger yummmmm. But I'd have to keep the imp uncapped directly under my nose to smell it at all. Sadness.

I have the feeling they used "demon" primarily so they could put it into "Diabolus". :) I really wanted to like it, for much the same reasons as you.

When I first uncapped the imp and was smelling, I kept trying to get white tea and ginger out of it, but all I was smelling was pepper. It took me a bit to clue in that I'd picked up the imp next to Kumiho, and not Kumiho. :)
