Toby and I spent the weekend playing Dragon Age: The Loadening. Yes, its real subtitle is Inquisition, but the load screens are diabolically long.

And when I mean that we played it, is that he handled the controls while I watched. When the character got to a decision point that affected plot, I made the choice, and Toby took care of combat. It makes for a nice together thing, especially because I can sit back reading a book or browsing Reddit while he plays, and we both get the experience of amusing glitches, like remarkably porous stairs into which the characters sink ankle-deep, or the horse that climbed up onto a stone fence. Or the amazing sliding horse that skidded sideways through the stables instead of walking.

I attempted to make the main character look like Toby, and failed completely, ending up with a Roman centurion who just can't even. Toby named him "SerTired," short for "SerTiredOfThisShit," and I've been having him make decisions that fit with that persona.

Huh. Is this on PC? I've been on PS4, and the only glitches I've hit so far have been a conversation with Dorian where he just stops after a sentence and nothing comes up on screen to advance things (I eventually mashed down on one of the controller buttons and he started talking again) and a graphics thing where talking to Cullen for any length of time meant that one of the two guys practicing fighting behind him showed up headless.

(I kind of liked that one so I don't think it counts. And it goes away when you're out of the conversation.)

Hrm. Not really sure, but did you have a warrior in your party who had the Battlemaster talent tree? It took me a couple of fights to realize the BWAAAAAR that I was hearing before certain fights got much underway was Blackwall activating the Horn of Valor ability. Might it be that?

yeah, I did something similar, at least at first- basically every side quest I could do in the Hinterlands before running into things that routinely spit out level 12 enemies, at which point I went back and advanced the plot. I'm trying to do as many sidequests as I can get away with before moving the plot along further, for the most part. I never know when Bioware's gonna say "if you divert from the main plot after THIS critical mission, everything goes to hell on your next mission"...

What, the Michael Jackson horse? That one's on purpose, you know. Has a recording contract.
I think he's related to Mr. Ed or something.

Meanwhile. I decided to jump onto the Dragon Age wagon by starting with Origins. Mine's an bow-wielding bleeding heart elf named 'Tilda', because I have no imagination. Gosh, guys, do we really have to kill people :(:(:(
