telophase: (shikamaru - screw you i'm going home)

*cranky*

I think I'm getting the con crud - sniffling, sneezing, sore throat, very very blah, apathetic feeling. I have to be at a meeting tomorrow morning at work, but I've put in advance notice that I'm probably going home afterwards.

Why can't I ever get sick during the week, and not on the weekends? Invariably whatever I get hits me like a hammer on Saturday and Sunday, and by Monday I'm on the mend.

On the bright side, I FINALLY got the money approved for me to go to the Internet Librarian conference in Monterey in late October, which means I'm indeed going to be at Yaoi-Con.

Won't be selling art there, it seems, since the fan market tables are all sold out, which means that hey, at least I don't have to schlep all my prints there, although this means I'm now operating at a loss for the con (I just sent in a query about art show space, however, so I can hopefully put a few pieces in there). And I need to figure out where the hell I'm going to sleep, since the offer I had seems to have fallen through (i.e., never got back to me). And I need the room from Thursday night through Saturday night. Hm. :/

*whine* *grumble* *moan* *complain* i so don't want to have to figure all this out when I feel like hell...

I love that the con page lists series with "yaoi appeal".

:D yay, i will see you! and i hope you feel better soon. have you ever tried that airborne stuff? it's pretty tasty. like tang. heh.

No, haven't tried it. I went into the store on the way home fom work and grabbed whatever I knew had worked for me in the past, and left. :)

Well, I'm glad you'll be there, because I was only going because of you.

They're sold out of tables to sell stuff at, but they have an area where you can grab a table and chair and draw or whatnot, just can't sell there or conduct any sort of financial transaction. I think they're fine on the art show, and you can put up to five pieces in, so I'm thinking some nice half-nekkid anime boys ought to sell something. And we can bring large amounts of flyers and talk PBR up.

...urk. I may be phoning work tomorrow and asking if I can do the meeting over the phone - it's only me and two others, so it's a simple conference call. If I feel tomorrow morning like I do now, I so do not want to make that drive.

* Ideally I'd find someone who'd let me share their table and sell prints, but I'm not going to presume on that.

I'm not sure what we'll have for room? We have a table in the dealer's room and one in the fan corridor, but we are sharing with Minkland and carrying a few other people's works too?

If you stop by and ask for me I might be able to find you a spot to put your prints? ^_^ (Um, that would be the tables marked either Umbrella x Minkland or vice versa. I can't remember what the banners actually say?)

If you can find room, that would be wonderful. :) (I knew I was risking the tables selling out, but I didn't want to send off a lot of money when I hadn't got my travel approved yet, so it was a catch-22. Ah well. With any luck, Internet Librarian will be at the same time as compared to the con next year as well, and I can make plans farther in advance.)

Is that why I'm sick? I caught some mysterious AnimeFest-induced sickness? It would explain why I started feeling bad the day after the con, I guess.
I am jealous because I should have planned for Yaoi-con but I never do.

If you get something that seems like a vary bad allergy attack but with exhaustion so complete it's tiring to walk across the room, then you've got what I've got.

I think I can pinpoint when I was exposed - I was walking across the lobby and as I passed by a group of people, someone turned his head and sneezed at me.

Wow, that actually is is. The other day I pretty much didn't get out of bed. It started with a sore throat the day after the con and by yesterday - which I think was the peak of it - I had all the symptoms of bad allergies along with a migrane. Blech. It seems better today than it was yesterday, though, so hopefully it will be over soon :D
